Samsung Galaxy A51 Battery Replacement

Step 1 | Samsung Galaxy A51 SIM Tray Removal

Insert a SIM eject tool, SIM eject bit, or straightened paper clip into the hole on the SIM tray.

  • Press firmly until the tray is ejected.
  • Remove the SIM card tray from the phone.

Properly orient the cards in the tray when reinserting to avoid damage.

Step 2 | Back Cover

Power off your phone completely before starting.

  • Prepare an iOpener and apply it to the back cover for a few minutes.
  • If needed, use a hair dryer or heat gun to loosen the adhesive.
  • Be cautious not to overheat the phone, as both the AMOLED display and internal battery can be damaged by excessive heat.

Insert the tip of an opening pick between the frame and the back cover near the USB-C port.

  • If needed, use a suction handle or strong tape to pull up the back cover for extra space.
  • Slide the opening pick to the bottom right corner and leave it in place.

Slide a second opening pick from the bottom right corner to the bottom left corner to separate the adhesive.

  • Leave the opening picks in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.

Insert a third opening pick under the bottom left corner of the back cover.

Apply more heat as needed, but be cautious not to overheat according to iOpener instructions.

  • Slide the opening pick along the left edge of the phone.
  • Leave the opening pick in the top left corner to prevent resealing.

Insert a fourth opening pick under the top left corner near the camera.

  • Slide the tip of the pick along the top edge to the right corner, cutting the adhesive.
  • Leave the pick in the top right corner to prevent resealing.

Apply an opening pick to each corner of the device.

  • Add a fifth opening pick to the top right corner of the back cover.
  • Slide this pick along the right edge, from top to bottom, to break remaining adhesive.

Step 8

Remove the back cover.

Apply strong, steady pressure to the phone for several minutes after installation to ensure proper adhesive bonding — excessive force may damage components.

  • A stack of heavy books can be used as a makeshift pressing device.

Step 9 | Midframe

Remove thirteen 3 mm Phillips #00 screws from the midframe.

Locate the plastic clips holding the midframe in place.

  • Insert an opening pick between the midframe and front panel assembly on the bottom near the charge port.
  • Slide the opening pick to the left bottom corner to release the plastic clips.
  • Next, slide the opening pick to the bottom right corner to release the rest of the bottom plastic clips.

  • Slide the opening pick to the right along the edge of your phone.
  • Release all plastic clips on the right side by continuing to slide the pick.

Slide the opening pick along the top edge of the device to release the top plastic clips.

Insert an opening pick at the top left corner and slide it down to the bottom left corner to disengage the left side's plastic clips.

Step 14

Remove midframe.

Use the flat end of a spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its socket.

Step 16 | Battery

Use the flat end of a spudger to gently pry up the interconnect cable from the motherboard.

Use the flat end of a spudger to gently pry up the interconnect cable from the daughterboard.

  • Disconnect the interconnect cable once released.
  • Remove the interconnect cable from its connectors.

Step 18

Apply an iOpener for 2-3 minutes to the battery.

May need to repeat this process multiple times during battery removal.

  • Reheat the iOpener as necessary and apply it again for 2-3 minutes.

Do not apply excessive force, as this may cause damage and lead to hazardous outcomes such as chemical leakage, fire, or explosion.

  • Insert a plastic card under the bottom edge of the battery.
  • Carefully slide the card underneath the battery to loosen the adhesive.

Step 20

Disconnect the battery.

Do not install a damaged or deformed battery — risk of electrical shock.
