Samsung Galaxy A50 Front Camera Replacement

Step 1 | Samsung Galaxy A50 SIM Tray Replacement

  • Insert a SIM card eject tool, a SIM eject bit, or a straightened paper clip into the hole on the SIM tray.
  • Press firmly to eject the tray — risk of damage if excessive force is applied.

  • Remove the SIM card tray and reinsert cards, ensuring proper orientation.

Step 2 | Back Cover

Be cautious of overheating, which can harm the AMOLED display and internal battery.

  • Switch off your phone.
  • Apply a heated iOpener to the back cover for 2-3 minutes or use an alternative heat source like a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate to soften the adhesive.

Insert an opening pick at the bottom of your phone near the USB-C port.

  • If necessary, use a suction handle or strong tape to pull up the back cover and create a gap.
  • Slide the opening pick towards the bottom left corner.

  • Insert a second opening pick and slide it from the bottom up, left edge.
  • If stuck, apply more heat and refer to iOpener guidelines to avoid overheating.

  • Leave opening picks in place to prevent adhesive resealing.

Insert third opening pick under top left corner of back cover.

  • Slide opening pick along top edge of phone.
  • Leave opening pick in top right corner to prevent adhesive resealing.

Insert the fourth opening pick under the top right corner of the back cover.

  • Slide the tip of the opening pick along the side of the phone to the bottom right corner to cut the adhesive.
  • Leave the opening pick in place in the bottom right corner to prevent resealing of the adhesive.

Remove the back cover.

  • Allow the adhesive to cure by applying strong, steady pressure to your phone for several minutes.
  • A stack of heavy books can be used as extra weight to help the bond form a good seal.

Step 8 | Midframe

Remove 13 Phillips #00 screws, each 4 mm long.

Insert a precision pick between the display and midframe, starting from just above the USB-C port.

  • Slide the pick along the bottom edge to release the retaining clips.

Slide the pick along the left edge of the phone, releasing the clips.

Slide the opening pick along the top edge of the device.

Slide opening pick to right edge, toward lower right corner.

Remove all midframe clips for easy disassembly.

  • Free the clips using a prying tool.
  • Lift off the midframe away from the phone body.

Step 14 | Battery Disconnect

Disconnect the battery connector with a spudger, prying it straight up from its socket.

Step 15 | Front Camera

  • Disconnect the front camera connector using a spudger, prying it straight up from its socket.

Remove the camera using a pair of tweezers.
