Samsung Galaxy A50 Back Cover Replacement

This repair requires a replacement back cover. You will also need adhesive for reassembly.

Step 1 | Back Cover

Avoid overheating the phone's AMOLED display and internal battery.

  • Switch off your phone before starting repair.
  • Apply a heated iOpener or alternative (hair dryer, heat gun, hot plate) to soften the back cover adhesive.

Insert an opening pick at the USB-C port.

  • If the pick cannot be inserted, use a suction handle or strong tape to pull up the back cover.
  • Slide the opening pick to the bottom left corner.

Insert a second opening pick near the bottom edge.

  • Slide it towards the top left corner to cut the adhesive.
  • If necessary, apply more heat to further soften the adhesive.
  • Follow iOpener instructions to avoid overheating and damaging components.

Leave opening picks in place to prevent adhesive resealing.

Insert a third opening pick under the top left corner of the back cover.

  • Slide the opening pick along the top edge of the phone.
  • Leave the opening pick in the top right corner to prevent adhesive resealing.

Insert the opening pick under the top right corner of the back cover.

  • Slide the tip along the side, down to the bottom right corner, cutting the adhesive.
  • Leave the opening pick in place at the bottom right corner to prevent resealing.

  • Remove the back cover.
  • Apply firm pressure to your phone with a stack of heavy objects (e.g., books) for several minutes to facilitate adhesive bonding.
