Samsung Galaxy A510F, replacement of USB PCB, jack and buttons

Replacing the USB port requires extreme care due to a resin glue that makes unsoldering difficult.

  • Option 1: Replace only the connector, but be aware of the adhesive issue.
  • Option 2: Entire PCB replacement is also tricky and requires caution. Be prepared to handle fragile components like tiny flex parts around the jack connector.

Great care must be taken when handling this rigid-flex board and lifting the glass screen to avoid further damage.

Step 1 | Samsung Galaxy A51 SIM Tray Removal

Insert the SIM card eject tool, a SIM eject bit or a straightened paper clip into the hole on the SIM tray at the left side of the phone.

  • Press firmly to eject the tray.
  • Remove the SIM card tray from the phone.
  • Properly orient the cards in the tray when reinserting them.

Step 2 | Back Cover

Step 2 image

Power off your phone completely before starting this procedure.

  • Apply an iOpener to the back cover to loosen the adhesive.
  • If needed, use a hair dryer or heat gun for extra assistance. Be cautious not to overheat the device:
    • The AMOLED display and internal battery are vulnerable to heat damage.

Step 3

Insert the tip of an opening pick between the frame and the back cover at the bottom near the USB-C port.

  • If necessary, use a suction handle or strong tape to pull up the back cover.
  • Slide the opening pick to the bottom right corner and secure it there.

  • Leave both opening picks in place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.

Step 5

Insert a third opening pick under the bottom left corner of the back cover.

  • If needed, apply more heat to soften the adhesive further.
  • Follow iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.

Apply too much heat and you risk damaging your phone's internal components.

  • Slide the opening pick along the left edge of the phone.
  • Leave the opening pick in the top left corner to hold back resealing adhesive.

Apply a suction cup to the upper edge of the phone when it's warm to the touch.

If the screen is cracked, use strong tape or superglue the suction cup in place and let it cure before proceeding — risk of adhesive failure.

  • Insert an opening pick into the gap and slide it to the top right corner to start cutting the adhesive.

Step 12
