Step 1 | Display

Switch off your phone.

  • If your screen is cracked, cover the front panel with tape to prevent glass shards and improve grip.
  • iOpener: Soften glue on display edges, starting with sides and then bottom.
  • Use an iSclack or suction handle to lift the display slightly for access with an opening pick.
  • Ensure you remove both glass and display layers without splitting them.

  • Initially, only insert the tip of the opening pick, starting at a side, and slide along to loosen glue. Leave top and bottom areas untouched for now.

Loosen the glue along the display's edge until it can be lifted.

  • Lift the display further with an opening pick to access underneath.
  • Take a second opening pick and work around the bottom edge.

Be extremely careful not to cut the ribbon cables attached to the software buttons on the lower left and right corners of the screen.

  • Repeat steps for the other side, working carefully with your opening picks.

Reheat the iOpener for 2 minutes.

  • Softened glue should now allow you to move the picks closer to the home button.
  • The display can be partially opened, but do not separate it from the motherboard completely.

The home button may stick to the display or midframe, so monitor its placement carefully.

Step 4

Locate the display connector in the top right corner.

  • Use a spudger to carefully unplug it.

Once unplugged, you can remove the display.

Step 5 | Separating the midframe

Remove the 12 Ph00 screws securing the midframe.

  • Disconnect the sim tray and sd card tray.

Use a plastic pick to carefully pry open the midframe, starting from below the volume buttons and working your way up.

Open up the cover.

  • Using a spudger, gently lift the flaps of the menu and back buttons.
  • The flaps may be lightly stuck to the midframe; use care when prying them free.

Step 7 | Removing the usb board

Remove the mainboard located below the antenna cable and headphone jack screws.

  • Detach the antenna cable from the USB board.
  • Unplug the antenna cable from its channel.

Carefully lift and pull out the mainboard to access the USB board.
