Step 1 | Get up the back

Caution: Be careful around the camera bump and exposed battery area.

Heat up the back of the device with a heat gun or heat plate.
Position the suction handle on the lower half of the device.
Pull up while trying to insert a plastic pick between the midframe and back plate.
Work your way around the device with additional picks, avoiding the camera bump and exposed battery area.

Step 2 | Separate the midframe from the display-logicboard-assembly

Loosen 16 Phillips #00-headed screws in midframe: 7 top half, 9 lower half.

Be careful around sim card tray; thin plastic and internal components at risk of damage.

Insert a plastic pick between colored midframe and black display frame, starting from the top right corner (camera bump-free area).
Use an opening tool if necessary to help dislodge frames.
Work around device to unsnap two frames completely.

Avoid going too deep into device to prevent camera damage.

Disconnect the battery flex cable.

Step 3 | Removing the charging port-board

Disconnect the three flex cables and the white antenna cable on the left side.

Remove the single Phillips-00 screw near the charging port, taking care to separate it from other screws.
Carefully lift out the board.

Step 4 | Remove the main logic board

Disconnect the interconnect flex cable and antenna cable from their respective connectors.
Remove the front facing camera and take it out of its mounting point on the top panel.

Be careful when handling the board, as it may be fragile.
Unscrew the one black screw and lift the board out carefully.

Step 5 | Remove the other components.

Confirm if the battery has removable pull tabs.

The battery, vibration motor, earpiece, and fingerprint reader are glued in place.
