Replaced displays without frames are riskier and may suffer damage due to lack of structural support.

  • Determine if a pre-assembled frame replacement or standalone display replacement is desired.

Remove the SIM card.

To avoid burning yourself, carefully heat the rear panel edges with a hairdryer, heat gun, or oven set to 80oC (175oF) top/bottom heat until you can handle it.

  • Insert a flat plastic tool, such as a pick or spudger, between the back and frame.
  • Slowly work along the entire edge with the tool to detach the back.
  • Lift the back slowly, pressing the fingerprint sensor against the frame to prevent damage.

When using a tool, insert it at as shallow an angle as possible and no deeper than 3mm to avoid damaging the motherboard connection cable.
