This repair requires a Samsung Galaxy A40 back cover removal. Reassembly will necessitate new adhesive.
Apply a heated iOpener to the back cover and wait for at least two minutes.
Attach a suction handle to the right edge of the back cover, near the edge.
If the back cover is damaged, securing the suction handle may be challenging; use strong tape or superglue to ensure it stays in place while it cures.
If necessary, apply more heat to further loosen the adhesive, but be cautious not to overheat the area; refer to the iOpener instructions for guidance.
Insert the opening pick into the bottom right corner and hold it there.
This will prevent the adhesive from sealing again.
At this point, feel free to remove or continue using the suction cup for better grip.
Be careful not to let the adhesive reseal — leave the opening pick in the top left corner.
If the adhesive becomes hard to cut, it may have cooled down. Reheat it with your iOpener.
Insert a fourth opening pick at the top left corner.
Insert a fifth opening pick under the phone's bottom edge.
Avoid damaging the fingerprint cable by pressing down on the fingerprint reader as you lift the back cover.
