Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) Motherboard Cover including NFC Antenna and Loudspeaker Replacement

Remove the motherboard cover and NFC antenna from your Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) using this guide.

Step 1 | Back cover replacement

Step 1 image

Power off your phone before starting disassembly.

  • Apply an iOpener for at least two minutes to loosen back cover adhesive.
  • Repeat this step as needed until the back cover is removed.

When using heat tools, be careful not to overheat the phone — AMOLED display and internal battery are vulnerable to damage.

Alternative options include a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate.

Use a small suction handle to create a gap at the Galaxy A3's bottom end.

  • Insert an opening pick and slide its tip to the bottom left corner, cutting the adhesive.
  • Leave the opening pick in place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.
  • Insert another opening pick and begin cutting the adhesive towards the phone's bottom left side.

Use a opening pick to carefully cut adhesive from all sides of the phone.

  • Leave one opening pick in each corner to keep the adhesive open.
  • If the adhesive becomes hard to cut, reuse an iOpener.

Be aware that the back cover is under tension throughout removal and may break if adhesive isn't loosened sufficiently.

Once all sides are cut, insert a pick on the right side of the phone and flip it sideways to get a secure grip on the back cover.
