Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) Back Cover Replacement

Opening the Samsung Galaxy A3 will damage its waterproof sealing, removing water-protection.

  • Use this guide for replacing the back cover on your Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 smartphone.
  • If needed, inject isopropyl alcohol (>97%) around the edges using a dropper or syringe to loosen adhesive.
  • Replace the back cover with new adhesive seals when reassembling the device.

Power off your phone before disassembly.

  • Use an iOpener for at least two minutes to loosen back cover adhesive.
  • Apply the iOpener multiple times if necessary during removal.
  • Be cautious of overheating when using heat tools, as AMOLED display and internal battery may be damaged.

Consider alternative methods like a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate if iOpener is insufficient; however, use with caution to avoid damaging phone components.

  • Use a small suction handle to create a gap at the bottom end of the Galaxy A3.
  • Be careful not to damage the screen when using an opening pick.

  • Leave the opening pick in the bottom left corner to prevent the adhesive from resealing.
  • Insert a new opening pick and start cutting the adhesive towards the bottom left side of the phone.

Use an opening pick to carefully cut the adhesive on all sides of the phone.

Leave one opening pick in every corner to prevent the adhesive from resealing and causing damage.

  • If the adhesive becomes hard to cut, reuse an iOpener.
  • Continue removing the back cover carefully, as it is under tension at all times and may break if not loosened enough.

Once you have cut the adhesive on all sides, insert an opening pick on the right side of the phone and flip it sideways to get a good grip on the back cover.

Remove the back cover from the phone.

  • Remove any remaining adhesive from the back cover and .
  • Clean the areas with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.
