Samsung Galaxy A3 Display Replacement
This guide assists with repairing the display or replacing the cracked glass on a Samsung Galaxy A3 device.
Step 1 | Display
Switch off your phone.
- Apply tape to a cracked screen to protect yourself from glass shards and gain a better grip on the front panel.
- Use an iOpener to soften glue along the display's edge, starting with sides and then bottom.
- Lift the display slightly using an iSclack or suction handle, creating space for an opening pick to access the gap.
- Insert only the tip of the opening pick, sliding along the side to loosen glue, leaving top and bottom untouched initially.
Step 2
Apply gentle pressure to loosen the adhesive with an opening pick.
- Lift the display slightly more to access the underside, then insert another opening pick.
- Guide it around the bottom edge of the device, taking care near the touch buttons.
Be cautious and patient to avoid damaging surrounding components.
- Repeat this process on the opposite side, working carefully around the touch buttons.
Step 3
Reheat the iOpener to soften the glue further.
- Move the picks closer to the home button.
- Proceed to open the display, but do not remove it completely (it is still connected to the motherboard).
The gold foil may detach and stick to the midframe; you can re-attach it later.
If your display is still functional, handle it carefully to avoid damaging the front panel or flex cables.
Step 4
Locate the display connector in the top right corner.
- Use a spudger to gently disconnect the display connector.
- The display is now removable.
