Samsung Galaxy A22/A22 5G Screen Replacement
Handle the device with care during disassembly and reassembly, as it contains fragile parts.
Step 1 | Remove Sim card Take cover off
Remove the SIM card.
- Apply heat to the back of the phone using an iOpener or heat gun, focusing on the edges.
- Insert a pry card and start gently prying around the edges to release the adhesive. Be patient as this may take some time.
Be careful not to damage the two cables in the middle of the phone.
Step 2 | Remove inner plastic frame
Remove the screws at the top of the phone and bottom of the frame.
- Pry the inner plastic frame away from the phone using a pry card, working your way around the entire device carefully.
- Disconnect the wire connected to the frame and phone.
Step 3 | Remove ribbons and bspeaker housing
Disconnect the ribbon cable connected to the battery.
Remove the speaker cover to access and disconnect the remaining two ribbon cables for the screen.
Step 4 | Place new screen
Remove old screen using iOpener or heat gun, and a pry cart.
- Pry along all edges to remove old display, cleaning out adhesive.
- Clean the front of the phone thoroughly.
- Insert ribbon cable into frame gap.
- Assemble device.
- Apply new adhesive around phone's frame.
- Place new screen on top of the frame.
Step 5 | add adhesive and put the phone back together
- Close the device and use Clamp holders to secure the screen in place.
- Turn the phone over and reattach all ribbon cables.
- Verify that the new screen is functional.
If the original adhesive is damaged, use new adhesive to seal the device. If Clamp holders are unavailable, rubber bands can be used as a substitute.
- Secure the back cover with Clamp holders or rubber bands.
- Ensure that the device is completely sealed and secure.
