Samsung Galaxy A20e Display Replacement

Your Galaxy A20e's display assembly can be replaced if the phone's glass or LCD is damaged from a drop.

Step 1 | Display

Remove the SIM card by pulling it out of its slot.

Next, remove the MicroSD tray using your fingers or a plastic spudger.

Careful not to damage internal components when using a metal Jimmy.

  • Insert a thin blade or Jimmy between the frame display and cover.
  • Slide tool along perimeter to release back cover.
  • For side shell, insert Jimmy between display frame and shell and slide along edge.
  • This should completely disengage the two parts.

Disconnect the Fingerprint scanner.

Remove the inner cover by taking out the 13 Philips #00 screws

Remove the upper cover to access the logic board.

Careful not to damage the lower cover's speaker opening when removing it.

  • Set aside both covers for reinstallation later.
  • Take note of any screws or clips holding each cover in place.

Never disconnect the power source before prying up connectors.

  • Pry up the Battery connector.
  • Pry up the Display connector.
  • Pry up the Power / volume buttons connector.
  • Pry up the Lower logic board connector.
  • Disconnect the lower logic board ribbon cable, following the indicator arrow on the cable towards the main board.

Step 7 | Remove The Battery

Do not puncture or bend the battery — risk of damage.

  • Place a few drops of alcohol under the battery and let it sit for about a minute to loosen the double-sided adhesive.
  • If needed, apply more alcohol to avoid applying excessive force that may damage the battery.

During reassembly, ensure the new double-sided tape is securely attached to hold the battery in place.

Disconnect the two blue and white antenna wires.

Note the locations of these wires for reassembly.

  • Lift the motherboard away from its mounting points, starting from the upper part.
  • Remove the microphone, taking care as it is glued and easily damaged. Apply gentle heat to facilitate removal.

Apply a small amount of heat to loosen the vibration motor.

  • After removal, take out the lower motherboard.
  • Use a heat source to loosen and remove the speaker.

Place the components on the new display.

  • Begin by positioning the main board.
  • Secure all other components according to the manufacturer's instructions.
