Samsung Galaxy A20 Motherboard Replacement

Failure to address overheating issues can result in irreversible motherboard damage.

  • Determine if software troubleshooting has been attempted before proceeding with replacement.
  • Replace the motherboard if WiFi connectivity problems persist, as this often indicates a faulty module or malfunctioning motherboard components.

Step 1 | Back Cover

Unplug and power off the device.

  • Remove the SIM card and the SIM card tray.
  • Warm the adhesive with an iOpener or heat gun.

Do not attempt to sever cold adhesive — risk of damage.

  • Insert an opening pick in the seam between the back cover and chassis while warm.
  • Slide the pick around the entire perimeter, re-heating if necessary.

Notable resistance may occur — reheat the adhesive as needed.

Remove the back cover.

Step 2 | Motherboard

Remove the 13 x 3.6 mm Phillips screws securing the midframe.

  • Insert an opening pick under the midframe edge.
  • Lift out the midframe using the opening pick.

Use a opening tool to carefully lift the two motherboard press connectors.

Unscrew the 3.6 mm Phillips screw.

  • Apply an opening pick to gently pry up the motherboard.
  • Once separated, remove the motherboard.
