Samsung Galaxy A20 I/O Board Replacement

This repair guide helps with damaged charging and headphone port board, especially after device trauma.

  • Your device's charging and headphone ports should not work properly.

Step 1 | Back Cover

Unplug and power off the device before starting work.

  • Remove the SIM card and its SIM tray.
  • Apply heat to the back cover's adhesive using an iOpener or heat gun.
  • Insert an opening pick in the seam between the back cover and chassis while warm.
  • (Reheat as needed to maintain progress)
  • Slide the opening pick around the entire perimeter until you can remove the back cover.

Step 2 | I/O Board

Remove all thirteen 3.6 mm Phillips screws securing the midframe.

  • Insert an opening pick under the midframe.
  • Pry up and lift out the midframe using the opening pick.

  • Use a opening tool to gently pry up both ends of each ribbon cable's press connectors.
  • Gently separate all four press connectors using the opening tool.

Disconnect the red antenna cable from the I/O board.

  • Use a pick to pry up and remove the I/O board.
