Samsung Galaxy A20 Battery Replacement

Step 1 | Back Cover

Unplug and power off the device.

  • Remove the SIM card and SIM card tray.
  • Warm the adhesive on the back cover with an iOpener or heat gun.

Do not attempt to cut cold adhesive.

  • Insert an opening pick in the seam between the back cover and chassis while the adhesive is warm.
  • Slide the pick around the entire perimeter. If resistance is encountered, reheat the adhesive.

Remove the back cover.

Remove the 13 x 3.6mm Phillips screws securing the midframe.

  • Use an opening pick to carefully lift out the midframe.

  • Use an opening tool to gently pry up the press connectors on both ends of each ribbon cable.
  • Remove the ribbon cables.

Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol at the top of the battery.

  • Use an opening pick to gently pry up the battery.
  • Be careful not to bend or puncture the battery.
  • Remove the battery.

Bent or punctured batteries can cause damage and fire risks.

During reassembly, apply adhesive to the well if your new battery doesn't have pre-applied adhesive.

  • Firmly press the new battery into place.
