Replacement adhesive is required for reinstallation of the back cover.
Let the phone's battery drain below 25% before starting this repair; a charged lithium-ion battery may catch fire if damaged.
Do not apply excessive heat, as this can cause damage to the display, internal battery, or plastic back.
The back cover has adhesive securing it to the frame.
Apply a suction handle to the back cover, near its center on the right edge.
Insert an opening pick on the right edge between the back cover and frame, slicing through the adhesive.
Do not remove the opening pick, as leaving it in place prevents re-adhesion.
Reheat the iOpener and apply it to the bottom of the back cover for 2 minutes.
Insert an additional opening pick into the bottom right corner.
Reheat the iOpener and apply it to the left side of the back cover for 2 minutes.
Insert an additional opening pick into the bottom left corner and guide it along the left edge, slicing through the adhesive.
Reheat the iOpener and apply it to the top of the back cover for 2 minutes.
Insert an opening pick at the top left corner, the same depth as before.
Leave one opening pick in the top right corner to prevent resealing.
Insert an opening pick along the top edge, twisting it gently to release the camera clips.
Insert the opening pick deeper into the bottom left corner of the phone.
Lift and remove the back cover.
