Samsung Galaxy A12 Disassembly

Step 1 | Housing

Remove the sim tray from the device.

Step 2 | Take off the back

Remove plastic back.

  • Release lock button flex by disconnecting.

Step 3 | Unscrew the plastic covers

Remove all screws from the device.

  • They are identical in size, so there's no need to note which ones go where.

Step 4 | Remove plastic covers

Remove plastic trim

  • Take out the screws from the front edge.
  • Gently pry off the plastic cover using a flathead screwdriver.

Step 5 | Detaching main board

  • Remove the smaller flex cables from their connectors.
  • Loosen the grounding screw.
  • Disconnect the antenna connection.
  • Pry the main board away from the Sim tray slot using a spudger.

Step 6 | Detach sub board

  • Pop the flex cable off the circuit board.

  • Lift the board gently, taking care to avoid pulling on the adhesive.

Step 7 | Battery

Locate the flex cable and gently move it out of the way.

To prevent damage, carefully pry the battery away from its housing using a credit-card size plastic tool.

  • Tilt the battery at an angle to avoid liquid spillage into the battery compartment.
  • Apply a small amount of isopropyl alcohol between the side of the battery and its corner, allowing the tool to slide in more easily.
