Samsung Galaxy A11 Motherboard Replacement

Removing or replacing the motherboard can cause permanent damage if not done properly.

  • Check for symptoms such as a non-turning on device, malfunctioning screen, frequent restarts, or minimal overheating.
  • If your device has these symptoms, proceed with this guide to safely remove the motherboard from your Samsung Galaxy A11.

For safety reasons, always follow the steps for removing and recycling a swollen battery in your device.

Step 1 | Back Cover

  • Insert the SIM eject tool into the SIM tray hole.
  • Continue pushing until a portion of the SIM tray is exposed.
  • Pull the remaining SIM tray out completely.

Use a iFixit opening pick to gently pry open the area near the SIM tray.

  • Gently move the pick along the gap to release the clips holding it together.
  • To prevent closure, use multiple picks if possible.

Use a hair dryer on low heat to gently warm the fingerprint sensor in 30-second increments.

  • Wait for each heating cycle to complete before continuing.
  • Pry the fingerprint sensor loose from the back cover using gentle pressure.
  • If stuck, detach the button by prying it from the bottom edge of the device.

Step 4 | Battery

Remove three 3mm screws from the shield with a Phillips #000 screwdriver.

  • Remove the shield completely.

Disconnect the battery press connector using a pair of tweezers, a spudger, or your bare fingers.

Do not use a hairdryer on expanded batteries.

  • Use a hairdryer on low heat to soften adhesive under the battery, if needed.
  • Insert an iFixit pry tool under the battery edge to loosen it.
  • Multiple iFixit pry tools may be required to hold the battery in place.
  • Continue cutting adhesive until the battery can be pried away from the phone.
  • Once freed, carefully lift and remove the battery from the phone.

Step 7 | Fingerprint Sensor

Detach the ribbon cable from the fingerprint sensor using a spudger.

  • Remove the fingerprint sensor from the device.

Step 8 | Motherboard

Remove the two 3mm silver screws at the top left of the device using a Phillips #000 screwdriver.

  • Use a spudger to disconnect the 2 ribbon cables connected to the battery slot from the motherboard.
  • Disconnect the 2 longer ribbon cables located near the bottom right corner of the motherboard.
  • Lift the cables up slightly to create a gap.

Use a spudger to pry up the motherboard at its corner.

When using a metal spudger, be gentle to avoid damaging components.

  • Remove the motherboard from the device once it is freed.
