Samsung Galaxy A11 Front Facing Camera Replacement

Swollen batteries can cause damage or injury — safely identify and dispose of them before proceeding.

  • Check if your battery is swollen using the provided guidelines.
  • Remove and recycle the battery as instructed to prevent future issues.

Never touch any electrical components without first disconnecting power sources — risk of electric shock.

  • Disconnect the battery connector.
  • Follow these steps to safely remove and replace the front facing camera.

Step 1 | Back Cover

Insert the SIM eject tool into the SIM tray hole.

  • Push firmly to partially eject the SIM tray.
  • Pull the remaining portion of the SIM tray out completely.

Insert an iFixit opening pick into the area near the SIM tray.

  • Gently move the pick along the gap and pry open the clips holding it together.
  • To avoid closure, use multiple picks if possible.

Apply low-heat setting on a hair dryer and heat the fingerprint sensor in 30-second increments to loosen surrounding adhesive.

  • Gently push the fingerprint sensor until it detaches from the back cover.
  • If necessary, remove the button by prying it loose from the bottom of the device.

Step 4 | Battery

Remove the three 3mm screws from the shield using a Phillips #000 screwdriver.

  • Remove the shield from the phone.

Use either tweezers, a spudger, or your bare fingers to disconnect the battery press connector from the phone.

DO NOT USE A HAIRDRYER if The Battery Is Expanded, as it can puncture the battery.

  • Apply low-heat hairdryer to soften adhesive under the battery (if not expanded).
  • Use an iFixit pry tool to dig under the battery edge.
  • Optional: Use multiple pry tools to hold the battery in place.
  • Continue cutting adhesive until the battery can be pried away.
  • Remove the battery from the phone.

Step 7 | Fingerprint Sensor

Use a spudger to disconnect the ribbon cable from the fingerprint sensor.

  • Remove the fingerprint sensor from the device.

Step 8 | Motherboard

  • Remove the two 3 mm silver screws at the top left corner.
  • Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver for this operation.

Disconnect the two ribbon cables from the battery slot using a spudger.

  • Remove the two longer ribbon cables near the bottom right corner of the motherboard.
  • Lift the cables up to create a gap, exposing the area underneath.

Use a spudger to pry up the motherboard, starting with the corner previously revealed.

  • If needed, use a metal spudger as an alternative.
  • Be gentle when using a metal spudger to avoid damaging components.

  • Remove the motherboard from the device.

Step 11 | Front Facing Camera

Use tweezers to carefully lift the copper strip between the front-facing camera and the motherboard.

Be extremely gentle when handling the device if you're using metal tweezers, as they can easily cause damage.

Flip the motherboard over.

  • Using a spudger, disconnect the front-facing camera from the motherboard.
