Samsung Galaxy A11 Display Assembly Replacement

To avoid risk of explosion or injury from a swollen battery, ensure the battery is charged to 25% or less and power off your device before proceeding.

  • Check for signs of a swollen battery by visually inspecting the device for any visible swelling or discoloration.
  • Dispose of the old screen responsibly by recycling it according to local regulations.

Step 1 | Back Cover

  • Insert the SIM eject tool into the sim tray hole.
  • Pull until the SIM tray partially protrudes.
  • Continue pulling to fully remove the SIM tray.

Insert an iFixit opening pick into the area near the SIM tray on the back cover.

  • Gently move the pick along the gap and pry open the clips holding it together.
  • If possible, use multiple picks to secure the back cover in place.

  • Use a hair dryer on low heat to heat the fingerprint sensor in 30-second increments.
  • Pry gently at the fingerprint sensor until it detaches from the back cover.
  • If necessary, remove the button by prying it loose from the bottom of the device.

Step 4 | Battery

  • Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the three 3 mm screws securing the shield.
  • After removing the screws, carefully lift and detach the shield from the phone.

  • Disconnect the battery press connector using tweezers, a spudger, or your fingers.

Avoid puncturing the expanded battery — handle with extreme care.

  • Apply low heat from a hairdryer (if not an expanded battery) to loosen adhesive under the battery.
  • Insert the iFixit pry tool along the edge of the battery.
  • If necessary, use multiple iFixit pry tools to secure the battery in place.
  • Continue cutting adhesive until the battery can be safely prised free.
  • Do not puncture or damage the expanded battery!

  • Remove the battery from the phone.

Step 7 | Earpiece Speaker

Use tweezers to carefully lift the copper strip located at the top right of the phone.

Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the three black 3 mm screws holding the speaker cover in place.

  • Remove the speaker cover.
  • The cover should now be free from the phone.

Remove the earpiece speaker using tweezers.

  • If necessary, apply heat from a hair dryer to loosen the adhesive.
  • Use gentle motion when handling metal tools to avoid device damage.
  • Orient the tweezers as needed for secure grip, horizontally or vertically.

Step 10 | Fingerprint Sensor

Use a spudger to detach the ribbon cable connected to the fingerprint sensor.

  • Remove the fingerprint sensor from the device.

Step 11 | Motherboard

Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the two 3 mm silver screws located at the top left of the device.

Disconnect the two ribbon cables at the battery slot using a spudger.

  • Remove the two longer ribbon cables near the bottom right corner of the motherboard.
  • Lift these cables up slightly to reveal a gap between them and the motherboard.

Use a spudger to gently pry up the motherboard.

  • If necessary, use a metal spudger for added stability.
  • Beware: metal spudgers require gentle handling to avoid damaging internal components.
  • Once pried up, carefully remove the motherboard from the device.

Step 14 | Daughterboard

Remove the eight silver and black 3 mm screws with a Phillips #000 screwdriver.

  • Remove the speaker cover.

  • Disconnect the antenna heads from the daughterboard using a spudger.
  • Remove the ribbon cable from the daughterboard.

Be careful with metal tools to avoid damaging the device.

  • Use tweezers to gently pry the daughterboard from the device.
  • Gentle handling of the device is crucial when using metal tools.

Step 17 | Vibration Motor

Remove the vibrator motor using a pair of tweezers.

  • If necessary, apply gentle heat with a heat source to release the adhesive bond between the motor and its mount.

Step 18 | Display Assembly

The display assembly is a self-contained unit that can be removed and replaced independently.
