Step 1 | Back Cover
- Insert the SIM eject tool into the hole on the SIM tray.
- Pull down until a portion of the SIM tray is released.
- Continue to pull out the remaining SIM tray piece.
Step 2
Use an iFixit opening pick to gently pry open the area near the SIM tray.
- Gently move the pick along the gap to release the clips.
- If necessary, use multiple picks to prevent the back cover from closing.
Step 3
Heat the fingerprint sensor with a hair dryer on low heat in 30-second increments.
- Gently push the fingerprint sensor to detach it from the back cover.
- If necessary, remove the button by prying it from the bottom of the device.
