Battery Disconnect

Ensure you have completed the prerequisite steps before attempting to disconnect the battery.

Step 1 | SIM Card

Insert the SIM card eject tool, bobby pin, or a straightened paperclip into the small hole.

Press firmly to eject the tray.

Step 2

Remove the SIM card tray from the phone.

The SIM card(s) and SD card will fall out of the tray easily, handle with care.

  • When reinserting the tray, ensure the SIM card and SD card are in their correct slots and oriented correctly.
  • For dual-SIM versions, place the SIM cards in their corresponding slots to match the phone lines.

Step 3 | Back Cover

  • Locate the plastic clips holding the back cover in place.
  • Insert an opening pick between the screen and back cover, at the bottom near the charging port.

Insert the opening pick into the bottom left corner and gently slide it along the edge to release the clips.

Step 5

Position the opening pick on the left edge and slide it up towards the top left corner.

  • The pick should align with the clips at the top left edge.
  • Slide the pick upwards to release the clips.

Step 6

Insert the opening pick into the top left corner and slide it along the edge to the top right corner, releasing the plastic clips.

Step 7

Slide the opening pick from the top-right corner to the bottom-right corner.

  • This will release any remaining clips.

Remove the back cover.

Step 9 | Motherboard Cover

Remove screws from the motherboard antenna cover.

  • Use a Phillips screwdriver (#00) with a 3mm shaft.
  • There are three screws in total.

Step 10

Use the tip of a spudger or tweezers to gently pry off the antenna cover.

Step 11

Remove three Phillips #00 screws of 3mm length from the motherboard cover.

  • The screws should be easily removable using a screwdriver.

Step 12

Use the tip of a spudger or tweezers to pry off the motherboard cover.

Step 13 | Battery Disconnect

Use a spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its socket.

Step 14

Step 14 image

Flex the battery connector gently away from its socket.
