This guide is for replacing a cracked or broken screen on your Samsung Galaxy A10. It assumes you're replacing just the screen and not the frame or motherboard, but note that some screens come pre-installed in a new frame which requires a different procedure.
Make sure to purchase the correct replacement part before starting this guide.
You will need replacement adhesive for reassembly.
Insert a SIM eject tool, SIM eject bit or a straightened paperclip into the hole on the SIM tray, located at the left side of the phone.
Press firmly to avoid damaging the SIM tray — risk of breaking the card slot.
Remove the SIM card tray.
Move the opening pick to the bottom left corner and slide it gently.
Insert the opening pick at the left edge and slide it up to the top left corner.
Start at the top left corner and slide the opening pick towards the top right corner to release the plastic clips.
Slide the opening pick diagonally from the top-left corner to the bottom-right corner.
Remove the back cover.
Remove the three #00 Phillips head screws, each with a length of 3 mm.
Use the flat end of a spudger to pry up the motherboard cover, releasing the plastic clips that hold it in place.
Use a spudger to disconnect the battery by prying the connector straight up from its socket.
Use the flat end of a spudger to gently pry up and release the display flex cable from its socket on the motherboard.
Remove 8 x #00 Phillips screws from the bottom. Each screw is 3 mm long.
Remove the daughterboard cover from the bottom of the unit.
Apply heat from an iOpener to the display for 2+ minutes.
Place a suction cup near the phone's bottom edge.
Leave the opening pick in place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.
Insert a second opening pick into the phone's edge, positioning it at the top left corner.
Insert a third opening pick under the top left corner of the display.
Leaving the opening pick in place will prevent the adhesive from resealing.
Insert a fourth opening pick at the top right corner of the phone.
Do not remove the display all the way yet - the display cable is still threaded through the frame and possibly adhered on the inner side of the frame.
Remove the old display.
If replacement part does not come with preattached adhesive, use custom-cut double-sided tape to secure the new screen.
Align and press the screen into place.
