Samsung Galaxy A10 Battery Replacement

If your battery is swollen, take proper precautions.

  • Discharge your battery below 25% before disassembly for safety.
  • This reduces the risk of a thermal event during repair if damage occurs.

Replacement adhesive will be required to secure components upon reassembly.

Step 1 | Samsung Galaxy A10 SIM Tray Replacement

Insert the SIM card eject tool, SIM eject bit, or a straightened paper clip into the hole in the SIM tray on the left side of the phone.

Press firmly to avoid damaging the tray.

  • Remove the SIM card tray.
  • Reinsert the cards ensuring proper orientation in the tray.

Locate the plastic clips holding the back cover in place.

  • Insert a spudger between the screen and back cover at the bottom of the phone, near the charging port.

Slide the opening pick to the bottom left corner to disengage the clips.

Insert the opening pick at the bottom left edge and slide it upwards towards the top left corner.

  • The goal is to disengage the clips that hold the screen in place.
  • This may require some force, but avoid applying too much pressure which can damage the phone's casing.

Slide the opening pick from the top left corner to the top right corner to release the plastic clips.

Move the opening pick from top left to bottom right, releasing any remaining clips.

Remove the back cover.

Remove the three Phillips #00 screws with a 3 mm length.

Be careful when handling the motherboard components — risk of damage.

  • Use the flat end of a spudger to pry up the motherboard cover.
  • If clips resist, twist the spudger for easier release.
  • Remove the motherboard cover.
  • The remaining plastic clips will release or can be easily unhinged by hand.

Step 11 | Battery Disconnect

Use a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its socket.

Insert the flat-end spudger between the interconnect and display flex cables and the motherboard.

  • Pry gently upwards using the spudger to release the interconnect cable.
  • Repeat for the display flex cable, being careful not to damage any components underneath.

Remove 8 Phillips #00 screws, 3mm in length, from the bottom.

Disconnect and remove the daughterboard cover.

Use a spudger to pry the interconnect cable connector straight up from its socket.

  • Release the interconnect cable from the device.

Repeat heating may be necessary due to the adhesive's strong bond.

  • Apply a heated iOpener to loosen the adhesive beneath the battery.
  • Heat for at least two minutes before proceeding with battery replacement.
  • You may need to repeat this process several times during removal.

Bend the display cable only slightly away from the battery.

  • Maintain a safe distance between the display cable and the battery.
  • Bend the cable gently to avoid damaging it or nearby components.

Avoid deforming the battery as it may leak chemicals, catch fire, or explode if damaged.

  • Use a plastic card to gently insert under the bottom edge of the battery.
  • Slide the card underneath the battery to loosen the adhesive without applying excessive force.
  • Continue sliding the card to pry up the battery from the bottom, taking care not to apply too much pressure.

Never reinstall a damaged or deformed battery — potential safety hazard.

  • Remove the existing battery.
  • Install a brand-new battery in its place.
  • Apply new adhesive to device, not battery, for secure positioning.

  • Press new battery firmly into place with the new adhesive.
