Samsung Fascinate Speaker Replacement
The goal of this repair is to remove internal components of the Samsung Galaxy S, focusing specifically on exposing and accessing the speaker for further repairs or replacement.
Step 1 | Back Case
Locate the slit on the bottom edge of your Samsung Galaxy S.
A spudger may be required to facilitate removal.
Step 2
Insert the edge of the spudger into the sill and gently pry the back case off.
Step 3 | Battery
Slide the spudger under the battery, creating space to pry it loose.
- Pry the battery outward, sliding the spudger along its underside as you work.
Step 4 | Speaker
Remove the screwdriver and turn it counterclockwise to loosen each of the 6 silver screws. If they're stuck, apply gentle pressure with a spudger.
- Continue loosening until all screws are removed.
- Be cautious not to damage the LCD touchscreen.
Step 5
Use a plastic opening tool to pry the main case from the LCD touchscreen.
- Insert the thin edge of the tool into the groove between the silver and black edges.
- Run the tool all the way around the phone, detaching each clip until you hear a distinct sound.
Step 6
Remove the main case and LCD touchscreen as a single unit.
- Pull the LCD touchscreen away from the main case.
Step 7
Remove the grey rubber component using a spudger.
Step 8
Pry along the groove between the speaker and main case using a spudger.
- The speaker should unclip and pop out easily.
