Samsung Exhibit II 4G Vibration Motor Replacement

This repair guide is for replacing a failed Vibration Motor.

Step 1 | Battery

Position the plastic opening tool under the back cover.

Apply firm pressure with a gentle downward motion to release the back cover.

Use a plastic opening tool to pry the battery out from its housing.

  • Insert the plastic opening tool under the battery.
  • Pry the battery out carefully.

Step 3 | Top Rear Housing Cover

Insert the plastic opening tool under the back cover.

  • Pry the top cover upward.
  • The top cover will detach from the phone.

Step 4

Remove the top cover.

Remove the four 3.8mm Phillips #000 screws that secure the top cover.

  • Two screws are located at the top edge of the device, near the front.
  • The other two screws are on the back assembly, near the bottom edge.

Insert the plastic opening tool underneath the top cover.

  • Use your hand to gently slide the top cover away from the phone.

Step 7 | Midframe

Remove the four 3.8mm Phillips #000 screws holding the back assembly in place.

Insert the plastic opening tool between the back assembly and the phone.

  • Pry the back assembly away from the phone using the plastic opening tool.

Step 9

Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry around the edge of the back assembly.

Step 10

Disconnect the back panel retaining clips. Pull the panel assembly away from the main housing.

Step 11 | Vibration Motor

Insert the pointed end of a spudger into the gap in the round housing frame.

  • Use the spudger to gently pry the vibrator loose from its adhesive mount.

Step 12

Use the flat end of a spudger to carefully pry out the vibrator cable from its connection on the motherboard.
