The Samsung Epic 4G's touch screen removal process is outlined below. Note that once the screen is removed, you can reverse this guide to reassemble your device.
Slide your fingernail along the edge of the device.
Hold the device firmly and gently pull the plastic backing until you hear a distinct snap sound.
Remove the battery by pulling its edge upwards.
Locate the memory card on the upper right-hand corner of the device.
Remove the 7 screws on the back of the phone with a Phillips #000 screwdriver.
Remove the power button using tweezers, if it has not already been dislodged.
Remove the white cable on the right side, next to the battery housing, with a nylon spudger.
Do not rip the white cables from the device — risk of damage.
Use a nylon spudger to pry the top flex cable loose.
Replace the USB port with a new one from a reputable manufacturer, ensuring compatibility with your system.
Remove the old camera lens by gently twisting it counterclockwise until it comes loose.
Do not touch any internal components to avoid damage or electric shock.
Remove the white label sticker.
Careful not to damage the QWERTY keyboard when removing the mid-plate.
Remove the four Phillips #00 screws securing the keypad housing.
Avoid damaging the flex cable when carefully pulling off the keypad housing.
Remove black screw covers with a spudger.
Avoid pushing the spudger too far into the phone — potential for damage.
Remove all blue tape with the tweezers.
Use tweezers to carefully remove the smaller flex cable portion.
Separate the from the screen.
