Samsung Droid Charge SIM Card Port Replacement

Step 1 | Rear Cover

Risk of damage to the phone's casing — handle with care.

  • Insert a fingertip or similar thin tool into the bottom groove.
  • Pull upwards gently using moderate force to release the back case.

Step 2 | Battery

Avoid damaging the battery — risk of injury from acid.

  • Locate the battery retention groove on the phone's casing.
  • Gently pry out the battery using the groove and a screwdriver or finger, if necessary.
  • Remove the battery and store it in a safe location to avoid damage or leakage.

  • Insert the SD card fully into its metal slot and listen for the click.
  • The card will eject on its own.
  • Remove the SD card from the device.

Step 4 | SIM Card

Push the SIM card upward and slide it out of its casing.

Remove back cover carefully.

  • Use a small Phillips head screwdriver to remove two 5mm screws.

  • Remove the back half of the phone's casing using a thin plastic flat head screwdriver or similar tool.
  • Insert the tool into the visible split between the two halves, just above the screen.
  • Pry the casing up carefully using a gentle lifting motion. This will start to separate the case from the phone.
  • Repeat this process all along the edge of the screen until the casing comes loose and pops off.

  • Release the volume button flex cable on the right side.
  • Disconnect the pop connector near the SIM card port on the motherboard.

Disconnect the SIM card port from the motherboard.

  • Release the SIM card port's retaining clips.
  • Lift and remove the SIM card port from its socket on the motherboard.
