Samsung Captivate Antenna Cable Replacement

A faulty antenna cable may prevent network connection.

Step 1 | Battery

Press the bottom section of the phone firmly.

  • Slide the bottom piece downwards to release the back cover.

Lift the back cover upwards to remove it.

Place your finger on the battery's bottom edge and lift upward to release.

Install the new battery in place of the old one.

Step 4 | Rear Case

Lift the bottom section using a spudger at its lowest point.

Be gentle to avoid damage — careful of edges and clips.

The bottom section should slide down to reveal two hidden screws.

Remove the six 4.5mm #000 Phillips screws.

Forcing the cover can crack the plastic.

  • Start at a corner and use a spudger to separate the rear case from the front display.
  • Moved the spudger towards the top on both sides, using a plastic opening tool if possible.
  • Apply gentle pressure with your fingers when detaching the top section, working on one side at a time.
  • Slide the back cover downwards once free, being cautious not to force it, which may cause cracking.

Remove the rear case to access the internal components.

Step 8 | Antenna Cable

Use a spudger tool to carefully pry up the antenna cable from its connector on the motherboard.

  • Pry up the other end of the cable from its connector on the antenna array.
