Samsung Captivate Glide Speaker Replacement
- Remove the Samsung Captivate Glide's main speaker by following these steps:
Step 1 | Motherboard
Use your fingernail or a plastic opening tool to remove the back cover.
The cover will pull up and off, be careful not to damage it.
Step 2
Use a plastic opening tool or your finger to remove the battery.
Step 3
Remove the seven screws from the backplate with a #00 screwdriver.
Step 4
Remove the back plate using the plastic opening tool.
Be careful not to damage the surrounding components — risk of electrical shock.
- Locate and pry up one side, starting with either lip.
- Pry up the other side, working your way around the edges.
Step 5
Use the plastic opening tool to pry off the two tabs holding the motherboard in place.
Step 6
Remove the antenna cable from the motherboard using a pair of tweezers.
Step 7
Use the #00 Phillips screwdriver to remove the single screw that connects the motherboard to the base of the phone.
Step 8
Remove the motherboard from the phone's base.
- Gently lift the motherboard upwards, working your way around the edges.
Step 9 | Speaker
Detaching the speaker tab, use a plastic opening tool.
Step 10
Be careful not to damage nearby components.
- Remove the speaker by gently pulling on it directly.
