Samsung Captivate Glide Speaker Replacement

  • Remove the Samsung Captivate Glide's main speaker by following these steps:

Step 1 | Motherboard

Use your fingernail or a plastic opening tool to remove the back cover.

The cover will pull up and off, be careful not to damage it.

Use a plastic opening tool or your finger to remove the battery.

Remove the seven screws from the backplate with a #00 screwdriver.

Remove the back plate using the plastic opening tool.

Be careful not to damage the surrounding components — risk of electrical shock.

  • Locate and pry up one side, starting with either lip.
  • Pry up the other side, working your way around the edges.

Use the plastic opening tool to pry off the two tabs holding the motherboard in place.

Remove the antenna cable from the motherboard using a pair of tweezers.

Use the #00 Phillips screwdriver to remove the single screw that connects the motherboard to the base of the phone.

Remove the motherboard from the phone's base.

  • Gently lift the motherboard upwards, working your way around the edges.

Step 9 | Speaker

Detaching the speaker tab, use a plastic opening tool.

Step 10

Be careful not to damage nearby components.

  • Remove the speaker by gently pulling on it directly.
