Samsung Captivate Glide Motherboard Replacement

  • Removing the Motherboard

Before starting, power down the device and disconnect all cables.

Locate the motherboard on the main board assembly.

  • Take note of any connectors or cables attached to the motherboard.
  • Use a plastic spudger to carefully lift and remove the motherboard from its socket.

Use a fingernail or plastic opening tool to pry the back cover away.

  • The cover will pull up and come off easily.

Remove the battery using either a plastic opening tool or your finger.

Remove screws from backplate with a #00 screwdriver.

  • There are 7 screws to remove.

  • Use the plastic opening tool to pry off the back plate, working at each side's lip.
  • Pry both sides evenly, then proceed along the edges.

Detach the two motherboard tabs from the base using a plastic opening tool.

Remove the antenna cable from the motherboard using a pair of tweezers.

Step 7

Use the #00 Phillips screwdriver to remove the single screw holding the motherboard in place.

  • Identify and locate the screw connecting the motherboard to the base of the phone.
  • Apply gentle pressure with the screwdriver, turning it counterclockwise until the screw is removed.

Remove the motherboard from its slot in the base of the phone.
