Samsung Admire Screen Replacement
Before proceeding, ensure that you have a Samsung Admire and are prepared for the repair process.
- Take note of your phone's current condition and any issues with the screen.
Make sure to follow these steps carefully in the following guide:
Step 1 | Screen
Use a plastic opening tool to pry the cover upwards.
- Insert tool into the slit.
- Pull the cover upwards.
Step 2
Lift the battery by inserting a fingernail or plastic tool into the hole below the camera.
Step 3
Remove the six screws at the back of the phone using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.
Step 4
Remove the inside back cover using a plastic opening tool.
- Pry the front and back case apart with the plastic opening tool.
- Lift the cover carefully, prying up all screen edges with the plastic tool.
Carefully disconnect ribbon cables to avoid damage.
- Lift the inside back cover slowly and remove it.
Step 5
- Lift the motherboard slowly to avoid damage.
Careful disconnection is required: remove the volume button from the motherboard.
- Disconnect the two ribbon cables from the back of the motherboard.
Step 6
Do not damage the ribbon cables when removing the shield.
- Pull back on each of the five shield clips located on the sides of the phone.
Step 7
Insert a plastic opening tool between the ribbon cable and its connector.
Carefully pry the ribbon cable loose from its socket to avoid damaging it.
Position the plastic opening tool at the screen's edge, then gently lift the screen upwards.
Step 8
Reconnect the ribbon cable followed by installing a new screen into the phone frame.
- Reverse steps 7, 6, and 5.
- Skip step 8 altogether.
- Finish with steps 4, 3, and 2.
