Use your fingernail or a plastic opening tool to pry the back cover up from underneath the slit.

• Pry gently at an angle, making sure not to damage the surrounding components.

Hands must remain dry when handling electronics to prevent damage or electrical shock.

• Position a fingernail under the battery access hole.
• Pull gently on the nail to remove the battery.

Remove the Phillips #00 Precision Screwdriver from its storage area.

• Use the screwdriver to remove the six screws located in the back of the phone.
• Place the removed screws on a magnetic mat to prevent loss.

• Use a Plastic Opening tool to remove the inside back cover.
• Position the Plastic Opening tool on the outside rim of the cover and circle around it to open the cover completely.

Be cautious when lifting the cover, as ribbon cables may be in the way.

• Lift the inside back cover slowly while disconnecting any attached ribbon cables.

Hold the motherboard by the edges and lift it up carefully.

• Disconnect the volume button connector from the motherboard.
• Take care not to damage the motherboard or surrounding components.
• Release the two ribbon cables attached to the back of the motherboard.
• Remove the motherboard completely from the phone.
