Samsung A3 2016 Model - A310F Display / LCD Replacement

Locate and carefully remove the SIM tray from the device.

Step 2 | Removing the battery cover

Be careful not to apply excessive pressure, which may cause the battery cover (also made of glass) to break.

  • Use a heat gun or iOpener to warm up the back of the phone.
  • Insert a spudger or thin-bladed tool between the battery cover and frame.
  • Slide the spudger around the entire perimeter to release the adhesive holding the cover in place.

  • Remove sixteen screws from the housing.

Hold the housing edge and push the battery to free the display and mainboard.

Be cautious of sharp edges.

  • If necessary, use a pick to carefully remove remaining adhesive from around the glass edge.

Remove the Philips screw holding the mainboard in place.

  • Unplug the cable connected to the mainboard.
  • Disconnect the display and camera connectors from the mainboard.

Release the daughter board's connection to the mainboard.

  • Gently lift the daughter board from its mounting points.
  • Identify and release any securing clips or screws holding it in place.

Heat the front of the display using a heatgun.

  • Use a spudger or pick to free the display and LCD from the plastic housing.
  • The LCD is glued and may break during removal.

The new display cable must be securely attached to the mainboard through a gap in the plastic frame.

Reattach the daughter board connector to the mainboard.

  • When re-inserting the mainboard, use a plastic spudger to push in the battery pins for proper contact.
  • Reconnect the display connector, camera, and cable to the mainboard.

Ensure all connections are secure before screwing the mainboard into place.

Screw the mainboard to the frame.

Turn on the phone and verify the display functions correctly.

  • Remove the adhesive from the back of the display only after confirming proper display operation.
  • Attach the display to the plastic frame.
  • Pull the display into the metal housing until it fits snugly in place.

Replace the 16 screws removed in Step 3.

  • Reattach the battery cover.
  • Final assembly is complete.
