Completely power off your phone before proceeding.

  • Apply an iOpener to the left edge of the rear cover for one minute.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate; however, be cautious not to overheat the device, as it may cause damage to the display and internal battery.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Apply a suction cup to the heated edge of the rear cover, as close to the edge as possible.

  • If your rear cover is badly cracked, cover it with clear packing tape for better adhesion.
  • Alternatively, use strong tape instead of a suction cup or superglue it directly.

Use strong, steady force when pulling up on the suction cup to create a gap between the rear cover and frame.

Apply more heat if necessary, especially for older phones.

  • Insert the point of an opening pick into the created gap.

Step 3 | Begin to slice the adhesive

Slide the opening pick along the left edge towards the bottom left corner.

Do not insert the opening pick more than halfway into the phone, or risk damaging internal components.

Leave the pick inserted in the bottom left corner to prevent the adhesive from re-sealing.

Step 4 | Slice around the perimeter of the phone

  • Repeat the heating and cutting process for the remaining three sides of the phone.
  • Leave an opening pick on each side before moving to the next to prevent adhesive resealing.

The rear cover will start to separate from the phone as you complete all sides.

Step 5 | Lift off the rear cover

  • Reinstall the rear cover according to the provided guide.

  • Replace the adhesive once you've verified the repair.
