Samsung Galaxy Note10+ Battery Replacement

For your safety, discharge the battery below 25% to avoid a potentially hazardous situation in case of damage.

  • Check for swelling before proceeding; take necessary precautions accordingly.
  • Use this guide for removing or replacing the Samsung Galaxy Note10+ battery.

Step 1 | Heat the rear cover

Step 1 image

Power off your phone completely before disassembling.

  • Prepare an iOpener and apply it to the left edge of the rear cover for one minute.
  • If using a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate, be careful not to overheat the phone, as the display and internal battery are susceptible to heat damage.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Apply a suction cup to the heated edge of the rear cover, as close to the edge as possible.

If the rear cover is badly cracked, covering it with clear packing tape may help the suction cup adhere.

  • For improved adhesion, use very strong tape instead of a suction cup, or apply superglue to attach the suction cup.
  • Pull up on the suction cup with strong, steady force to create a gap between the rear cover and frame.
  • If the phone is old, this may be difficult; try applying more heat if you're having trouble.
  • Insert an opening pick into the created gap.

Step 3 | Begin to slice the adhesive

Step 3 image

Risk of damage to internal components if pick is inserted more than halfway.

  • Slide the opening pick along the left edge towards the bottom left corner to slice the adhesive.
  • Limit insertion depth to prevent damage; do not insert more than halfway into the phone.

Leave the pick inserted in the bottom left corner to prevent adhesive re-sealing.

Step 4 | Slice around the perimeter of the phone

Repeat the heating and cutting process for the other three sides.

  • Leave an opening pick on each side before moving on to the next one to prevent resealing.
  • The rear cover should start separating from the phone as you complete all sides.

Step 5 | Lift off the rear cover

Remove the rear cover by lifting it straight up.

  • To reinstall, follow the separate guide for rear cover installation and adhesive replacement.

Before applying new adhesive and sealing the device, test your repair by turning on your device.

If using Tesa tape, refer to the dedicated guide for correct reattachment procedures.

Excessive use of isopropyl alcohol can damage the display.

  • Apply 1-2 drops of high concentration (90% or greater) isopropyl alcohol at the tear-shaped indents near the battery well corners.
  • Wait approximately two minutes for the isopropyl alcohol to penetrate and weaken the battery adhesive.

Step 18 | Remove the battery

Step 18 image

Thumbnail 3

Apply a suction cup to the back of the battery.

  • Pull up on the suction cup with strong, steady force to separate the battery from the frame.
  • If difficult, apply a few drops of isopropyl alcohol underneath and let it sit for two minutes before trying again.

Insert an opening pick into the gap created between the battery and frame, but do not insert more than halfway to avoid damaging the fingerprint sensor.

  • Pull up on the suction cup to remove the battery.
  • If using isopropyl alcohol, wait ten minutes for it to evaporate completely before installing the new battery.

When reassembling, apply stretch release adhesive strips or double sided adhesive tape to secure the new battery in place.
