Oppo X9000 Volume Button Replacement

This guide replaces physical volume buttons, not the internal electronic switches.

Step 1 | Removing the Back Cover

Turn the phone over to expose the back side.

  • Pry the back cover up from the top, near the headphone jack and camera.
  • Move down the sides and bottom to completely remove the back cover.

Step 2 | Removing the Battery

Remove the battery by lifting the top-right corner nearest the camera using your finger.

Step 3 | Remove the Back Panel Screws

Remove the twelve exposed 3.6 mm Phillips screws from the rear of the phone.

  • Use a 3.6 mm Phillips screwdriver.
  • Store all the screws in a safe place to avoid losing them.

Step 4 | Remove the Rubber Stoppers

Locate the circular rubber screw covers on the phone's back.

  • Insert the spudger into the gap between each cover and the chassis.
  • In one motion, pry out the stopper from its hole. Be prepared to apply force if necessary.

Step 5 | Remove the Newly Exposed Screws

Remove the three 3.6 mm Phillips screws using a 3.6 mm Phillips screwdriver.

Step 6 | Lift off the Back Panel

Position the plastic opening tool under the chassis, near the power button.

  • Pry the chassis away from the phone.
  • This may require some force, but it should separate easily.

Step 7 | Remove the Volme Button Bracket

Insert the sharp end of the spudger into a gap near the volume button and gently pry the bracket away from the rear case.

Step 8 | Let the Button Fall Out

Turn the phone sideways.

  • The volume button should now be loose and easily removable.
  • Retrieve the volume button immediately to avoid losing it.
