Oppo X9000 Power Button Replacement

This repair guide specifically addresses the power button, distinct from the electric switches.

Step 1 | Removing the Back Cover

  • Turn the phone over to face the back.
  • Pry the back cover up from the top near the headphone jack and camera using your fingers.
  • Remove the back cover by sliding it down the sides and bottom.

Step 2 | Removing the Battery

Remove the battery by lifting the top-right corner nearest to the camera with your finger.

Step 3 | Remove the Back Panel Screws

Remove the twelve 3.6 mm Phillips screws on the rear of the phone using a 3.6 mm Phillips screwdriver.

  • Store all the screws in a safe place to avoid losing them.

Step 4 | Remove the Rubber Stoppers

Remove the circular rubber screw covers from the back of the phone using a spudger.

  • Insert the spudger between each cover and the chassis, then pry out the stopper in one motion.
  • Some force may be required for this step.

Step 5 | Remove the Newly Exposed Screws

Use a 3.6 mm Phillips screwdriver to remove the three 3.6mm Phillips screws.

Step 6 | Lift off the Back Panel

Prying with excessive force may damage the phone.

  • Insert the plastic opening tool under the chassis near the power button.
  • Pry the chassis from the phone gently but firmly.

Step 7 | Remove the Power Button Bracket

Use the sharp end of a spudger to carefully pry the power button bracket away from the side of the rear case.

Step 8 | Let the Button Fall Out

Flip the phone onto its side to access the power button easily.

  • Ensure the power button is removed carefully and kept track of it.
