Oppo X9000 Motherboard Replacement

The motherboard controls all logic and command functions in a phone, sending instructions to various components.

  • To replace certain components, disassemble the motherboard itself.

Step 1 | Removing the Back Cover

Flip the phone over to expose the back.

  • Pry the back cover up from the top, near the headphone jack and camera, using your fingers.
  • Moving down the sides and bottom, continue to pry off the back cover.

Step 2 | Removing the Battery

Remove the battery by gently lifting the top-right corner nearest to the camera with your finger.

Step 3 | Remove the Back Panel Screws

Remove the 12 x 3.6 mm Phillips screws from the rear of the phone.

  • Use a 3.6 mm Phillips screwdriver for this task.
  • Store the screws in a safe place to avoid losing them.

Step 4 | Remove the Rubber Stoppers

Locate the three circular rubber screw covers on the back of the phone.

  • Insert a spudger into the gap between each cover and the chassis, then gently pry them out in one smooth motion.

This may require some force; be careful not to damage the surrounding components.

Step 5 | Remove the Newly Exposed Screws

Remove the three 3.6 mm Phillips screws with a 3.6 mm Phillips screwdriver.

Step 6 | Lift off the Back Panel

Insert the plastic opening tool underneath the chassis near the power button.

  • Pry the chassis from the phone using the plastic opening tool.
  • Apply sufficient force, as this may require some effort.

Step 7 | Remove the Power Button Bracket

Insert the sharp end of the spudger between the power button bracket and the rear case.

  • Apply gentle pressure on the spudger to pry loose the bracket.

Step 8 | Let the Button Fall Out

Rotate the phone onto its side.

Make sure the power button does not fall into a hidden crevice, losing it would require more time and effort.

  • The power button should now be accessible with ease.
  • Be careful not to lose or misplace the power button.

Step 9 | Remove the Volme Button Bracket

Locate and insert the sharp end of the plastic spudger between the volume button bracket and the rear case.

Be careful not to scratch or damage surrounding components.

Step 10 | Let the Button Fall Out

Place the phone on its side, allowing the volume button to exit easily.

Do not misplace the volume button.

Step 11 | Remove the Black Screws

Identify the motherboard's two distinct chips: a larger one above where the battery resides, and a smaller one below it.

  • Remove three 3.6 mm Phillip's screws from the motherboard using a suitable tool.
  • A small silver WiFi antenna connector may detach from the lowest screw; be cautious not to lose it, though phone operation remains unaffected without it.

Step 12 | Disconnect the Motherboard

Use the flat end of the spudger to carefully lift each of the four tape connectors upwards, removing them from their slots on the motherboard.

For the right-hand motherboard connectors:

  • Insert the spudger between the motherboard and connector.
  • Rotate the spudger in a rocking motion to release the cables.

Pay close attention to avoid damaging your device.

  • Unplug the visible connection on the bottom right.
  • Lift the tape and expose the second socket underneath.
  • Lift the second tape and disconnect it.

Step 15 | Disconnect the WiFi Antenna

Hold the wifi antenna with your fingers and gently pull it up towards the top.

Continue pulling until the antenna breaks free from the lower motherboard.

Step 16 | Remove the Small Motherboard

Position the spudger near the charging port and gently pry the lower motherboard away from the phone, working your way outward.

  • Start at one side and carefully separate the motherboard from its connections.
  • Continue prying around the edges until the motherboard is completely disconnected from the phone.

Step 17 | Remove the Big Motherboard

  • Begin at the top and use a spudger to gently pry the larger motherboard away from the phone.
  • Continue prying until the motherboard is completely detached.
