Oppo X9000 Front Facing Camera Replacement

  • Locate the Front Facing Camera attached to the motherboard chip on the back side.
  • The entire motherboard must be completely disassembled to access and remove the Front Facing Camera.

Step 1 | Removing the Back Cover

Flip the phone over to access the back side.

  • Pry the back cover up from the top near the headphone jack and camera using your fingers.
  • Continue moving down the sides and bottom to completely remove the back cover.

Step 2 | Removing the Battery

Use your finger to lift the top-right corner of the battery closest to the camera.

  • Continue lifting until the battery is fully removed.

Step 3 | Remove the Back Panel Screws

Remove the 12 3.6 mm Phillips screws from the rear of the phone using a 3.6 mm Phillips screwdriver.

Make sure to store all the screws in a safe place where you won't lose them.

Step 4 | Remove the Rubber Stoppers

Careful: Removing screw covers may require significant force.

  • Insert a spudger between the rubber cover and the chassis at the border.
  • Pry out the stopper in one smooth motion, applying necessary pressure if needed.

Step 5 | Remove the Newly Exposed Screws

Use the 3.6 mm Phillips screwdriver to remove the three exposed 3.6mm Phillips screws.

Step 6 | Lift off the Back Panel

Insert the plastic opening tool under the chassis, near the power button. Apply gentle pressure to pry the chassis away from the phone.

OR
  • Position the plastic opening tool near the power button.
  • Pry the chassis gently but firmly away from the phone.

Step 7 | Remove the Power Button Bracket

Insert the sharp end of a spudger between the power button bracket and the rear case, gently prying it loose.

Step 8 | Let the Button Fall Out

Rotate the phone 90 degrees.

Do not misplace the power button.

Step 9 | Remove the Volme Button Bracket

Use the sharp edge of a spudger to carefully pry the volume button bracket loose from the rear case.

Step 10 | Let the Button Fall Out

Position the phone on its side.

  • The volume button should fall out easily in this orientation.
  • Be cautious not to misplace the volume button.

Step 11 | Remove the Black Screws

Locate the two distinct chips on the motherboard: one above where the battery rests, the other below.

  • Remove three 3.6 mm Phillip's screws.
  • A small silver metal piece holding the WiFi antenna might come loose; if lost, the phone will still function normally.

Step 12 | Disconnect the Motherboard

Use the flat end of a spudger to gently pry each of the four tape connectors upwards from their motherboard sockets.

Follow these steps carefully to avoid damaging the device.

  • Locate the hidden motherboard connections on the right side of the board.
  • Insert a spudger between the motherboard and each connection, then rotate it in a rocking motion.
  • The two cables should disconnect from the motherboard as you rotate the spudger.

Pay close attention to the guide to avoid damaging your device.

  • Unplug the visible connection on the bottom right.
  • Lift the tape to expose the hidden second socket, then unplug it as well.

Step 15 | Disconnect the WiFi Antenna

Use your fingers to gently lift the WiFi antenna near its connector on the smaller motherboard.

Continue lifting until the antenna separates from the bottom motherboard.

Step 16 | Remove the Small Motherboard

Careful not to damage components.

  • Use a spudger to gently pry the lower motherboard away from the charging port.
  • Pry from the sides until the motherboard is completely disconnected.

Step 17 | Remove the Big Motherboard

  • Insert a spudger into the gap between the motherboard and the phone's casing.
  • Pry gently from the top of the motherboard downwards, working your way around until it is completely detached.

Step 18 | Remove the Front Facing Camera

Flip the large motherboard chip over and face the rear.

  • Use the flat end of a spudger to release the cable connecting the camera.
