Wear heat-resistant gloves and place the phone on a heat-resistant surface.

  • Use a heat gun to apply slow, even heat to the back panel edges.
  • Do not focus heat on one spot for too long — risk of damage to the phone.

  • While heating, use a Jimmy to check if adhesive is soft enough to separate the panel.
  • Carefully detach the back panel using opening picks to hold it apart from the device.
  • Attach a suction cup to the back panel once most edges are separated.
