OnePlus One Front Facing Camera Replacement

Step 1 | Battery

Remove the SIM tray.

  • Use a plastic opening tool to carefully separate the back panel from the main body assembly.
  • Be cautious around the SIM slot and other weak areas, as resistance may occur due to hidden locking clips.

Do not attempt to free the battery at this point; it's an integrated design that can be easily damaged or destroyed if proper steps aren't taken.

  • Remove the plastic plugs using a pair of tweezers.
  • Once exposed, use a PH #00 screwdriver to remove three 3.175mm screws.
  • Continue with the PH #00 screwdriver to remove the remaining six 3.175mm screws.

Use a plastic opening tool to gently lift the black plastic cover off the device.

High-grade adhesive holds the battery in place; lift carefully.

  • Locate the black ribbon attached to the battery on the logic board.
  • Use a spudger to gently lift the battery from its side, opposite the ribbon.
  • The battery is soft and malleable; avoid permanent damage during removal.

Disconnect the battery connector.

  • Pry up the battery ribbon from its dock using a black spudger.
  • The battery is now free to be removed.

Step 6 | Removal of Ribbons

Remove the battery.

Be cautious of fragile connections — risk of damage.

  • Use a spudger to disconnect the two side ribbons (volume up/down and power).
  • Disconnect the top ribbon and any other remaining ribbons from the battery compartment.

Step 7 | Removal of Motherboard

Remove the final screw, a Phillips 00, 3.00 mm long.

  • Pry out the motherboard using a spudger.

Step 8 | Removal of Rear Facing Camera

  • Pry off the rear-facing camera using a spudger or angled tweezers.

Step 9 | Removal of Front Facing Camera

Use a spudger or angled tweezers to carefully pry the front-facing camera away from its connector.
