OnePlus Nord N200 Motherboard Replacement

Ensure the device is completely powered off before starting, to avoid electric shock or damage.

  • Check for indications that the motherboard needs replacement, such as persistent software issues or physical damage.
  • Backup your data before proceeding, as all memory components will be removed during this process.

Replacing the motherboard involves removing all memory components, so backup your data carefully to avoid loss.

  • Purchase a replacement motherboard compatible with your OnePlus Nord N200 (model number DE2118).
  • Use precision tools to safely remove and replace the motherboard.

Do not use the suction tool on the rear glass, as it will not provide sufficient grip.

  • Insert a Jimmy into the seam between the rear glass and midframe at the bottom edge of the phone to create a gap.
  • This may require moderate force.
  • Leave the Jimmy in place for several seconds to prevent adhesive resealing.

Insert an iFixit opening pick into the gap.

  • Slide the Jimmy around the phone to slice the adhesive.
  • Insert a second iFixit opening pick at the sliced spot to keep it open.

Use your hands to finish prying open the midframe.

Be careful when removing the back tray not to damage the fingerprint reader cable, which is still connected.

  • Remove the back tray with care.
  • Pull off the midframe and set it aside.

Risk of permanent damage: ensure the battery is disconnected from the charger.

  • Place a spudger under the connector's edge and pry straight up to disconnect the battery.
  • Avoid prying under the socket on the board; this risks damaging it permanently.
  • Exercise caution: do not scrape or damage small components on the board.

Careful reconnection required: align connector over its socket and press down gently but firmly.

  • Bend-resistant tip: for wider connectors, press down only when fully seated to avoid pin or connector damage.
  • If misaligned, do not force the connector into place; reposition it and try again instead.

Step 11 | Front-Facing Camera

Pry under the edge of the connector, not the socket.

  • Use a spudger or opening tool to pry straight up and disconnect the front-facing camera from the motherboard.
  • Be careful not to damage small components on the board.

To reconnect:

  • Align the connector over its socket carefully.
  • Press down gently with your fingertip-first on one side, then the other, until it clicks into place.

Important:

  • Don't force the connector into place; reposition and try again if necessary.
  • Avoid pressing down on wider connectors' middle until they're fully seated to prevent damage.

Avoid damaging the socket by prying under the edge of the connector itself.

  • Place an opening pick or spudger under the press connector's edge and pry straight up to disconnect.
  • Beware of nearby surface mounted components; avoid accidental damage.

Never force a misaligned connector, as it may bend or break.

  • To reconnect: align the connector carefully, then press down on one side, followed by the other, until it clicks into place.
  • On wider connectors, avoid pressing down in the middle until fully seated to prevent pin damage.

Step 16

Disconnect the black coaxial connector first as it is the ground connector.

  • Peel tape from the upper right corner of the phone to expose the black coaxial cable.
  • ESD-safe pry tool or angled tweezers: slide under metal neck, lift straight up for disconnection.
  • When lifting, ensure connector head is raised straight up to avoid damaging socket on board.

Reconnecting can be tricky; use tweezers to hold connector in place and gently press down with finger or spudger. The connector should "snap" into place.

Do not force the connector into place, as this may cause permanent damage.

Avoid damaging the board — risk of short circuits.

  • Insert a thin, ESD-safe pri tool or angled tweezers under the metal neck of the white coaxial cable connector.
  • Lift straight up from the board using the tweezers to separate the connector.

  • Slide the spudger under the edge of the motherboard to begin removal.
  • Make sure all wires and connector cables are disconnected before proceeding, as failure to do so may cause damage or injury.
