Replace the suction cup with a Jimmy due to its inability to adhere to the rear glass's surface.

  • Insert the Jimmy into the gap between the rear glass and midframe at the bottom edge of the phone.
  • This process may require some force, as the adhesive can be stubborn.

  • Leave the Jimmy in place for a few seconds to prevent the adhesive from resealing.

Never charge your phone during this repair — risk of battery damage.

  • Disconnect the battery from its charger to prevent damage.
  • Use a spudger or opening pick to pry under the battery connector's edge.
  • Avoid prying under the socket on the board — risk of permanent damage.
  • Be careful not to scrape any surface mounted components during disconnection.

Never force a connector into place, as it may bend or break the pins underneath.

  • To reconnect: align the battery connector over its socket and press down on one side, then the other, until it clicks.
  • Avoid pressing in the middle of wider connectors until fully seated to prevent damage.

Risk of damaging the socket if not prying under the connector edge.

  • Pry straight up on the front-facing camera connector using a spudger or opening tool, making sure to pry under its edge and not the board's socket.

Careful: avoid scraping small surface mounted components on the board.

  • Reconnect by aligning the connector over its socket, pressing down carefully first on one side, then the other, until it clicks into place.
  • Avoid forcing the connector; reposition and try again if necessary.

Avoid bending or breaking pins under wider connectors by not pressing in their centers initially.
