OnePlus Nord N20 5G Screen Replacement
Your OnePlus Nord N20 5G (Model: CPH2459) may have a faulty screen. This repair guide is for replacing the screen.
Step 1 | Back Cover
Insert the SIM ejector tool or a spudger into the small hole beside the SIM tray.
- Push gently until the tray pops out.
- Slide the SIM card tray outwards to remove it.
Step 2
Heat the iOpener in a microwave for 30 seconds.
If not hot enough, reheat for an additional 10-30 seconds.
- Apply the heated iOpener to the phone's backside for one minute to loosen adhesive.
- Use the iFixit opening tool to pry the back panel off along the edges of the phone.
Step 3 | Screen
Remove the 18 x 3.9mm screws with a Phillips #0 screwdriver.
Step 4
- Run the iFixit opening tool along the edges to loosen the back housing.
- Separate the back housing from the screen frame.
Step 5
Disconnect the brackets from the motherboard using a spudger.
Step 6
Disconnect the bracket attached to the daughterboard using a spudger.
Step 7
Remove the battery.
This step prevents damage to the phone's battery due to heat from the iOpener.
Step 8
Avoid overheating the screen and camera — risk of damage.
- Heat an iOpener for 30 seconds.
- Apply it to the front of the screen until a Jimmy can fit between the screen and phone.
Step 9
Attach a suction handle to the screen.
Be gentle when handling the screen — excessive force may cause further damage.
Step 10
Warm the edge glue using heat from a hair dryer or other suitable device until it is pliable.
- Use a suction tool to gently lift the screen, while simultaneously prying the screen with a Jimmy.
- Repeat heating and peeling process as necessary for multiple passes around the edges.
