Step 1 | SIM Tray

Insert a SIM card eject tool into the hole on the side of the phone, located just below the SIM tray.

  • Press firmly to release the SIM tray.
  • Pull it out the rest of the way.

Position your phone on a clean heat-resistant surface or mat.

Keep flammable materials away from the work area.

  • Hold the heat gun 2-3 inches above the device.
  • Move the heat gun along the edge of the back cover in small circles.

Do not leave the heat gun in one spot for too long to avoid damaging the device.

Multiple heating and prying cycles may be required depending on the adhesive and temperature.

Apply gentle circular motions with the heat gun to loosen the glue around the fingerprint button.

Apply suction cup to the back, then gently pull.

  • Insert an opening pick into the gap between front & back cover.
  • Slide the opening pick around the perimeter to loosen glue.

Slowly remove the bottom cover.

Step 4

Loosen the four screws with a Phillips screwdriver.

Be careful not to touch the lens when removing it.

  • Remove the camera lens from its housing.

Step 5

Avoid puncturing the battery — risk of damage.

  • Remove eleven Phillips screws from the back using a Phillips screwdriver.
  • Use an opening tool to carefully pry off the mid frame.

Step 6

Locate the fingerprint sensor, held in place by an orange cable.

  • Pry the orange cable upwards with a tool, until it comes loose.
  • Remove the fingerprint sensor
