OnePlus Nord 2 5G Battery Replacement

Discharge battery below 25% before disassembling for safety and to prevent fire risk.

  • Check for a swollen battery and take necessary precautions if found.
  • Purchase replacement adhesive for the repair.

Step 1 | Loosen the rear glass

Step 1 image

Prepare an iOpener by heating it according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  • Apply the iOpener to the rear glass for at least three minutes to loosen the adhesive underneath.

Use a heat gun, hot plate, or hair dryer with caution: overheating can damage the display and internal battery.

The suction cup will not adhere to the phone's rear glass surface.

  • Insert an iFlex into the seam at the bottom edge of the phone, between the rear glass and midframe.
  • Apply sufficient force if necessary to create a gap.
  • Leave the iFlex in place to prevent adhesive resealing.

Grab and lift the right pull-tab to remove the first half of the battery.

Do not attempt to fully remove the battery yet, as the left half remains adhered to the midframe.

  • If you encounter difficulty lifting the battery, apply heat to the screen using an iOpener for two minutes to loosen the adhesive.
  • Alternative methods include using a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate, but exercise caution to avoid overheating the device.

To prevent damage, only apply heat directly to the screen and not the battery itself.
