OnePlus 9 Pro Bottom Loudspeaker Replacement

Be cautious when handling high heat from the heat gun.

  • Inspect the bottom loudspeaker for debris or dust buildup.
  • If clear, proceed to replace the bottom loudspeaker.
  • Use a heat gun in step 3 as instructed by the packaging.

Step 1 | Rear Glass

Always discharge battery to below 25% before disassembling to prevent thermal event risk.

  • Disconnect all chargers and peripherals.
  • Power off your phone

Protect the damaged rear glass with a covering of masking tape.

To avoid damage, do not apply excessive heat.

  • Use a hair dryer to lightly heat the rear glass perimeter.
  • Focus on the top-right corner for additional adhesive removal.

Never hold the hair dryer in one spot for too long.

Apply a suction handle as close to the bottom edge as possible.

  • Pull up on the suction handle with strong, steady force to create a gap between the glass and the frame.
  • If you have trouble creating a gap, apply more heat to further soften the adhesive.
  • Insert an opening pick into the gap.

Slide an opening pick around the perimeter of the rear glass to cut the adhesive.

  • Insert additional opening picks as you work to prevent re-adhesion.
  • If the adhesive becomes resistant, it may have cooled down. Reheat with a hair dryer before proceeding.

Carefully lift the rear glass up and off the phone.

  • Reassembly: secure the rear glass using pre-cut adhesive or double-sided adhesive tape.
  • Apply strong, steady pressure to the phone for several minutes after installing the rear glass. A stack of heavy books can aid in forming a good bond.

Step 7 | Bottom Loudspeaker

Insert an opening pick at the lower part of the wireless charging cable and gently pry up the adhesive.

Remove the press connector ribbon cable from the flash module.

  • Insert a spudger under the bottom edge and pry straight up to release the cable.

Next, remove the flash module using an opening pick by the camera.

Make sure to handle the phone's internal components with care.

  • Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the eleven 4.9 mm-long screws holding the motherboard cover.

Finally, use an opening pick to pry off the motherboard cover.

Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove five screws.

  • Three black screws, each 4.8 mm-long, secure the daughterboard.
  • Two white head screws, also 4.8 mm-long, are located in the bottom right corner of both boards.

Insert a spudger under each interconnect cable lip and gently pry upwards to disconnect.

Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the three screws holding the loudspeaker in place.

Step 12

Insert the spudger into the gap and gently pry up the loudspeaker. Remove it completely once loose.
