Replacing a rear glass panel may compromise water resistance on some OnePlus 8 models (T-Mobile IN2017, Verizon IN2019). Ensure replacement adhesive is used for a successful repair.
Do not risk heat damage to the display and internal battery.
Apply a suction handle to the center of the bottom edge of the rear glass.
If your display is badly cracked, cover it with clear packing tape to help the suction cup adhere.
Pull up on the suction handle with strong, steady force to create a gap between the rear glass and frame.
Insert an opening pick into the gap.
Insert the opening pick into the bottom right corner of the device.
Insert another opening pick under the bottom edge of the rear glass, into the gap you just made.
Reheat the iOpener and apply it for two minutes to soften the adhesive if slicing is difficult.
Be cautious not to let adhesive reseal around the pick.
Insert a spudger into the top right corner of the rear glass.
Remove the rear glass.
After reassembly: Apply strong, steady pressure for several minutes to ensure adhesive bond.
